Abstract

Trans and gender diverse children and adolescents experiencing gender dysphoria may be reluctant to engage in teletherapy if they are concerned about the ways in which they appear and sound on screen. To provide a more comfortable and less anxiety-inducing teletherapy space, therapists may offer clients options regarding client visibility and use of voice during sessions. This chapter outlines ways in which to support trans and gender diverse children and adolescents by giving them control over their physical and vocal visibility during teletherapy sessions, fostering new opportunities for client expression and engagement.
