A portfolio of actions
Abstract
Action to mitigate the effects of climate change over the next decade is crucial if countries are to meet their net-zero ambitions by the middle of the century. Government action is important, as is the response by industry and the wider business community, but individuals can also make a genuine contribution by addressing their annual and lifetime carbon emissions, or their carbon debt. This chapter uses a series of practical case studies, some simple and some more complicated, to highlight how an individual can realise the many opportunities available to address their carbon debt. The opportunities centre around a series of themes that cover an individual’s activities as they go about their lives.
