Abstract
Part A of this chapter is Farzad Sharifian’s original contribution to the first edition of the present handbook, edited by him in 2015. The editors of the new edition decided to include it as a reprint rather than revising and updating it, in order to pay tribute to Farzad Sharifian’s outstanding contribution to the theoretical foundation, popularization, and dissemination of Cultural Linguistics. In Part B, the editors provide an overview of developments in Cultural Linguistics over the last decade, both in terms of recent studies along these lines and relating to the refinement of its theoretical framework.
