Education, policy and integrated working
Abstract
The last two decades have seen significant policy developments and initiatives centred on early childhood education and care. This chapter will critically reflect on some of those policy changes relating to the concept of integrated working and the curriculum for young children in England and will attempt to understand how integrated working has been viewed historically and in current policy and practice. By applying Bronfenbrenner’s model, it will explore how integrated working can be seen within each of these different systems. It will ask you to reflect on key terms, your own understanding and how you can work in an integrated way with a range of different stakeholders including children and parents.
