Abstract

Film is more than a medium—it is a metaphor. Like a mirror, it reflects what has been hidden; like a compass, it reorients us toward meaning; like an alchemical vessel, it transforms raw experience into art. For individuals and communities navigating the aftermath of trauma, filmmaking offers a unique path toward healing, not only because it captures emotion but also because it reconfigures it ( Malchiodi, 2020 ).
