Creating Opportunities for Technology to Be a Bridge and Not a Barrier
Abstract
The chapter introduces guidance on leveraging educational technology integration frameworks to select technologies for learning activities and learner support, then it shares definitions of different modalities of instruction (blended, distance, online synchronous, and HyFlex instruction) through which those technologies are deployed. Finally, the chapter provides guidance on embedding digital literacy instruction within technology-enriched instruction and employing different assessment strategies to support learners' digital literacy development.
