Abstract

Throughout their careers, investigators may have been exposed to working on cases with only a single pathologist. Depending on the investigator, some medical expertise may be somewhat limited; thus, they heavily rely on the information provided by the pathologist. Additionally, some investigators may hold the view that the education acquired by the pathologist in becoming a Doctor of Medicine supersedes any investigative expertise they have gained. Questioning a pathologist’s findings is never seen as an option.
