Communication
Abstract
In this chapter, good communication practice is explored with a specific focus on communication disabilities that occur because of stroke. The types of difficulties and the resulting impact on life after stroke are discussed and illustrated by stroke survivor stories. Best practice recommendations from these survivors are outlined with practical hints and tips for improving communication between healthcare professionals and stroke survivors living with communication disability.
