Open but Inaccessible
Abstract
Governments worldwide grapple with the concept of making their data fully accessible to the public. This challenge is intensified by the emergence of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and other disruptive technologies, which simplify the storage and retrieval of such data. However, the accessibility and inclusivity of data are underscored in Sustainable Development Goal 16 of the 2030 Agenda. Against this backdrop, the authors aim to explore methods to achieve this goal by utilizing AI to facilitate Open Government Data. In this context, several challenges have been identified, and recommendations have been proposed to guarantee access to public data through digital platforms.
