The nominal domain in Russian as a second language
Abstract
In this chapter, the primary focus is on the SLA of Russian case and gender morphology. The chapter begins with an overview of the Russian case and declensional paradigm and provides a brief background on monolingual and early bilingual development in this domain before moving on to studies with L2 learners and adult heritage speakers. The overview includes studies on both production and processing of nominal morphology, addressing such questions as the role of morphological transparency and the existence of morphological defaults.
