Jungian Analytical Play Therapy With Sexually Abused Children
Abstract
In this chapter, Jungian Analytical Play Therapy (JAPT) will be explored for the treatment of childhood sexual abuse. This approach considers the unconscious as the seat of transformational healing and seeks to awaken the Self-Healer within each child. The goal is true transformational healing versus the elimination of a cluster of symptoms. A review of the core principles of this approach will be discussed. The core principles of JAPT treatment will be demonstrated through the presentation of a clinical case study.
