Abstract

This chapter outlines the theoretical-methodological affective approach to researching rape and introduces the processes, methods and tools used to conduct the research. The chapter presents a conceptualisation of affect which is informed by intersectional decolonial, African-centred, and feminist perspectives. It describes the methodological approach of affective entanglements, which weaves together autoethnography, in-depth interviewing and affective reflexivity.
