In early 2025, in the first months of President Donald Trump’s second term, words like “diversity,” “BIPOC” [Black, Indigenous, and People of Color], “Gender,” “Intersectionality,” “Inclusivity,” “LGBTQ,” “Non-binary,” “Pronouns,” “Trans,” and “Women” were banned from public websites, school curricula, and all grant and funding applications.
