Abstract

This case challenges students to analyze and improve the visitor experience at SNØ, a year-round indoor snow arena in Lørenskog, Norway. Despite Norway’s natural abundance of snow, SNØ offers curated snow activities such as skiing, ice climbing, dining, and events in a controlled environment. Students work in teams to critically assess and reimagine the design of the experience of SNØ with its target markets, storytelling, and co-creation strategies, then propose and present creative enhancements. The case unfolds in three parts: A written group report, individual peer reviews, and a final group presentation. Although SNØ is the focal point, the case framework is versatile and highly adaptable to other experiences – such as festivals, retail spaces, or digital services – making it a versatile tool for teaching the foundational principles of the experience economy.
