Abstract

This chapter explores how therapists can culturally attune their clinical practice when working with diverse populations. It will focus on clinically diagnosed and self-diagnosed autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), highlighting ADHD, impulsivity, and potential links to compulsive sexual behaviours. The chapter will explain what ASD and ADHD are and the interaction with compulsive sexual behaviours. The author will guide therapists working with neurodivergent clients who struggle with compulsive sexual behaviours (CSB) to foster and maintain an ethical and anti-oppressive practice.
