Abstract

This chapter introduces supervision when working with sexual compulsivity and clinical sexology. Clinical supervision is a critical component for supporting the overall well-being of a practitioner, the development of the profession and supporting ethical, positive and safe outcomes for clients. Many practitioners have specific needs when working on sexological issues with their clients. These are typically not addressed in standard supervision training, or at least not addressed from a sexological lens. As such, this chapter is here to enhance supervisory skills as well as provide self-reflective practices in the sexological realm to those practitioners who are supervised.
