Abstract

This chapter studies how feminist ideologies and activities have affected translation theories, translator positionalities and identities and revised the rhetoric of translation. It focuses on the view of feminist translation as goal-oriented, deliberate, feminist action which contrasts sharply with traditional views of translators as mere conduits, and translation as a reproductive non-creative, essentially feminine, re-versioning of texts.
