Abstract

This chapter examines the ideological shifts within the CCP, the evolving landscape of its ideological work, and the corresponding changes in the politics curriculum. It shows how Chinese socialist ideology has evolved and been modified with the development of China, integrating Marxism, Maoism, nationalism, and market reform to address social challenges. The Party-state has successfully transmitted its ideology through education, media, and political campaigns. The politics curriculum also reflects these changes in socialist ideology, shifting from the cultivation of the socialist man to the formation of responsible socialist citizens. This chapter sets the foundation for a deeper exploration of the current state of CE.
