Abstract

This part focuses on the concept of Social Innovation and its role within business. In the four chapters of Part III , attempts have been made to define the idea of social innovation through various lenses dealing with the Social Innovation Index™, a national barometer of customer-perceived social innovativeness of a company and utilized by the countries and academic institutions associated with the Innovation Index Coalition. Specifically, the first chapter of this part analyzes the perceived authenticity of social communications in the Social Innovation Index™. The second chapter delves into the social innovation drivers within the financial services industry, specific to the United States. The third chapter explores a real-world case study of a Spanish company that is perceived as socially innovative by customers and employees alike. The final chapter highlights the role of diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives in furthering social innovation through a case study with a Danish company. This part explores the varying pathways toward defining social innovation across various industries, stakeholders, and socially innovative topics.
