Abstract

A PDSA cycle, or ‘Plan-Do-Study-Act Cycle’, can be a useful tool to use to work through proposed changes in healthcare. It is well suited to dental practices, as changes can be tested with one clinician in one surgery, and then moved on to further surgeries and further practices. With a committed group of staff focused on improving a particular problem, PDSA cycles are easy to complete and effective in producing improvement.
