Introduction
Abstract
This book emerges from sustained engagement with Dalit and Pasmanda activists, intellectuals, and communities in Pakistan who resist the structural and epistemic violence of caste, assert their agency and Dalitness, challenge imposed labels, and claim resources in their capacity as indigenous inhabitants. It highlights how caste structures not just social hierarchies but moral imaginaries, shaping who is seen as virtuous, respectable, or rights-bearing.
