Conclusion
Abstract
In this book, the role of terrorism in Russian policy making has been examined through the prism of securitisation theory. The analysis has shown that the counterterrorism agenda is instrumental in Russia&s;s efforts to regain global influence and has become fundamental to both foreign and domestic politics. In this concluding chapter, the main points of the research are brought together, summarising the actors, audiences, and aims of securitisation across the domestic, regional, and international levels of analysis. This chapter also reflects on what the Russian case of terrorism securitisation contributes to securitisation theory, and considers what can be learned from this study about the particular features of the Russian case.
