Abstract

The primary session goal is to review the components of an effective homework system at home (e.g., space, minimize distractions, start at a consistent time, take breaks, etc.). The Problem Solving Plan for each teen is reviewed as a group and solutions, plans and expectations, and rewards are modified as needed. In the large group, caregivers and teens discuss how to set up an individualized and effective homework system at home. In the teen group, teens discuss how their Problem Solving Plan went over the last week and will review how they can add or edit a solution on the Problem Solving Plan for setting up a homework system. In the caregiver group, caregivers discuss how their teen&s;s Problem Solving Plan went over the last week, trouble shoot how to edit the current solution, and add a solution related to setting up a successful homework system. For the Real World Practice Assignment, the teen and their caregiver will update their Problem Solving Plan and continue working on 1–2 solutions.
