Abstract

The primary session goals are to review how to use a planner to keep track of assignments and discuss how to prioritize assignments in the planner. The Problem Solving Plan for each teen is reviewed as a group and solutions, plans and expectations, and rewards are modified as needed. In the large group, caregivers and teens review and practice how to use a planner to write down and prioritize homework assignments, tests/quizzes, and projects. In the teen group, teens discuss how their Problem Solving Plan went over the last week and get additional practice with prioritizing tasks and activities in their planner. In the caregiver group, caregivers discuss how their teen&s;s Problem Solving Plan went over the last week and trouble shoot how to edit the current solutions and add a solution related to using a planner. For the Real World Practice Assignment, the teen and their caregiver will update their Problem Solving Plan and continue working on several solutions.
