Abstract

This chapter discusses analysing multiresponses. In research, many a time there are situations when the respondent selects more than one response to a multiple choice question. Since a single question has multiple responses from each single respondent, they are referred to as multiresponses. In this chapter, we explain with an example how to arrange these responses in a dataframe, and then find multiresponse frequencies using the ufs package Peters & Gruijters, 2023) of R. The frequencies of multiresponses are usually more than the number of respondents because each respondent gives more than one response. Therefore, multiresponse frequencies are calculated with reference to responses, as well as with reference to respondents. There is no R function to undertake multiresponse crosstabs. So, we explain a step-by-step procedure to undertake the same.
