Abstract

For most women, labour typically begins during the night. They often report sporadic uterine contractions, and the appearance of a blood-tinged vaginal discharge is usually the first convincing sign that prompts them to consider going to a health facility. However, many women choose to wait until the contractions become more intense before seeking medical care so they can have a shorter stay at the health facility.
