Interdisciplinary approaches to the role of place and resistance in citizenship research
Abstract
This commentary reflects on the legacy of ideas which have informed notions about space, citizenship and temporality from geographic and sociological studies and how these relate to social psychological studies of citizenship. Reflecting on the chapters in this section on the role of place and of youth, the author considers how a social psychology dimension on space and time could enrich interdisciplinary citizenship studies, drawing particular attention to the concepts of place dispossession and resistance.
