Abstract

Christopher Bayes examines the influence of Commedia dell’Arte in his work, from the early years with Theatre de la Jeune Lune, to his travels in Europe where he encountered John Rudlin and the work of Carlo Boso, to his current career as a director and creator of commedia-inspired theatrical productions, with an emphasis on Ruzzante, and additional commentary on the work of Carlo Goldoni.
