Abstract
Michele Bottini discusses his roots in Commedia dell’Arte, his experience at the Piccolo Teatro di Milano in Giorgio Strehler’s production of Arlecchino, Servant of Two Masters, where he apprenticed with the legendary Ferruccio Soleri. Bottini examines different aspects of the practice of commedia, including his thoughts on the nature of playing in mask, his unique approach to the form, as well as his view of commedia’s survival today.
