Abstract

Giovanni Fusetti discusses his vast range of experience with Commedia dell’Arte – his introduction to the art from figures including Carlo Mazzone-Clementi and Jacques Lecoq, his work as a teacher and practitioners, and his views on contemporary approaches to the discipline. He considers carefully the use of types in commedia, the concept of “the spirit of commedia,” and the challenges of creating and performing commedia for modern practitioners and audiences.
