Abstract

This volume advances the understanding of telecinematic stylistics by exploring how multimodal elements, visual, aural, and linguistic, interact to construct narrative and affective meaning in film and television. Employing a combination of qualitative and quantitative methodologies, contributors systematically analyse production features, including shot descriptions, gesture, sound, and language, to examine character development, narrative coherence, and audience engagement. Key findings demonstrate that multimodal resources collaboratively shape character portrayal, thematic metaphors, and emotional expression, revealing complex layers of meaning beyond traditional text-based analysis. These insights highlight the importance of integrating cognitive and interdisciplinary approaches to interpret the dynamic interplay of modes in cinematic storytelling. The research underscores the potential of multimodal stylistics to deepen comprehension of audience reception and the expressive power of screen media, thereby contributing significantly to both theoretical development and practical analysis within film studies.
