Abstract

Gender disparities within technology entrepreneurship remain a central concern for both academics and policymakers. This chapter employs an integrative literature review to synthesise and compare global and African evidence, situating African women’s participation within broader theoretical and policy conversations. Through this comparative lens, the chapter highlights how African insights can enrich the existing frameworks on gender and technology entrepreneurship. Specifically, it identifies research gaps, underscores the limitations of current theorising, and proposes directions for future research. In so doing, the chapter moves beyond documenting gender issues to demonstrate the potential of African evidence to reshape global debates and extend theoretical understanding.
