Abstract

Chapter 9 highlights that the mentoring programme is widely recognised as an important learning activity associated with the positive impact on business performance and growth. The five case studies shared offer examples of mentoring programmes aimed at supporting business and people strategies in organisations. The Graduate Facilitated Group Mentoring Programme assists engineering and environmental graduates to transit to professional consultant roles within an engineering firm with offices across New Zealand and Australia. The second case study is an example of an intra-organisational mentoring programme within a manufacturing company in the United Kingdom, aimed at improving employee engagement, productivity, and retention. The third case study showcases the use of mentoring as an integral part of a Talent Development Programme in a multinational German automotive corporation. The fourth case study is based on the business of a global medical device company and their mentoring programmes, varying in duration and target groups, are designed and implemented for talent development, first-time managers, and regional teams across Europe, Japan, and Latin America. The fifth case study is an inter-organisational reverse mentoring programme designed and delivered by Syrowka Mentoring Academy, a mentoring consultancy based in Poland.
