Abstract

This chapter articulates the moisturized and healing circle space. The process and development of the space highlight the creative approach to discussing identity and teaching with regard to Black women. Ultimately, gathering as Black women educators is scant in the world of teaching. But here, we share our journeys through the personal and political terrain of hair. By centering our Blackness, womaness, and hair, this chapter offers reflection and connection, affirmations and proclamation, visibility and validity through the words of the MWHC women.
