Abstract

This introductory chapter defines the key concepts central to the monograph, with particular emphasis on the notion of diaspora, and outlines the scope and aims of the collected volume. It situates the research at the intersection of three fields: Diaspora, Exile, and Migration Studies; American Studies; and Translation Studies. Each of these areas is briefly delineated, and an overview is provided for existing scholarship on the research of translation and diaspora within Translation Studies.
