Abstract

In this chapter, we study hyper-relevance, which refers to how digital marketers deliver bespoke, meaningful value propositions to customers in real time by utilizing technologies such as advanced data analytics and artificial intelligence (AI), which allow them to understand and shape consumers’ constantly changing contexts ( Crowley et al., 2024 ; Sandquist, 2018 ). Through hyper-relevance, digital marketers create deeper, more personalized, and more engaging connections with consumers by providing dynamic, context-aware value propositions that align with consumers’ needs and desires in real time. What this vision of digital marketing requires is a deeply intimate relationship between marketer and consumer where the marketer has perpetually up-to-date, fresh data about the consumer to offer them this on-demand, or even ‘ pre -demand,’ level of service delivery. Framed in this light, digital marketing becomes about increasing and perfecting choice, optimizing satisfaction, and generally enhancing consumer lives by becoming integral to their lives. Thus, digital marketing can empower consumers and become a positive enabler and partner that makes life easier with timely propositions about only those things hyper-relevant to them.
