Abstract

As the far regions of the world become more connected with easy access to travel, whether through immigration or temporary exploration, people with differing backgrounds come together and learn, willingly or unwillingly, to coexist together or in proximal spaces. Our global connectedness ascertains that individuals are more interconnected. Whether through various social media spaces, more national and international travel, or exposure to diverse reading materials about the larger world, students are now able to easily learn about ethnicities, cultures, and mores outside their immediate lived experiences. This global access provides opportunities for children to read stories that broaden their perspectives and deepen their understanding of the world.
