Abstract

This chapter explains why there is an increasing recognition that multi-faceted, complex problems require multi-disciplinary solutions. This increases the need for information sharing and joint decision-making. Partnership working has seen significant advances particularly in policing vulnerability and reducing harm. This chapter explores the need for policing to work more explicitly with a range of agencies on a variety of problems, from low-level antisocial behaviour to Serious and Organised Crime (SOC). It explores the opportunities and challenges of intelligence analysis in partnership working. It explores how different partnerships generate different strategies and follow different structures, all of which have an impact on intelligence analysts. It highlights the most prominent areas for analysts to be aware of, when developing intelligence for multi-agency solutions.
