Introduction
Abstract
This book pursues an anti-racist approach to planning and community development. Equally important, it seeks to challenge classist and elitist approaches. As an alternative, it proposes more cooperative, caring and peaceful relationships, and forms of power within the planning process. This book assumes that each community of color in North America already possesses ample talent, brilliance and a worldview that is sufficient to determine its own future. This introduction provides an overview of the themes, tenets and voices explored in the following chapters.
