Abstract

Constructivist learning serves as the framework for viewing project-based learning (PBL), which is a student-centered approach grounded in real-world problems intended to foster critical and retrieval thinking, meta-cognitive reflection, and is interdisciplinary. Within this inquiry, other concepts are introduced for innovative pedagogical education, including authentic learning and maker space/maker education that is intended to understand the needs and forms of constructivist learning and PBL. The research considers the success of PBL through how two teachers implement cultural tools and resources. This is a continuous process that requires reflection on teacher competencies and knowledge, teacher attitudes, and teacher assessment to create a student-centered and teacher-guided approach for non-dominant perspectives within pedagogical education.
