Learning Materials
Abstract
Over the last three decades, the curriculum and pedagogy discourse in India has seen a shift away from an emphasis on teaching to that on learning. This has further caused a move away from whole-class lectures and rote-based methods towards privileging a more child-focused, group based, and interactive learning method. This discourse has increasingly made use of the term teaching learning materials (TLMs). The acronym TLM has become so popular that the term has acquired a life of its own, divorced from the context and philosophy of teaching and learning.
