Abstract

In an era of increased engagement and investment in e-learning, attending to the possibilities and pitfalls of digital learning in higher education is increasingly important. Learning environments that utilize digital technology can provide significant opportunities to rethink how we create meaningful learning experiences, especially for minoritized students. However, many instructors find it difficult to use educational technology effectively to transform their teaching methods. This chapter uses dimensions of the Equity-First Framework for Digital Learning to offer suggestions on how digital technology can support equity-minded teaching and learning in online settings.
