Abstract

Understandings and interpretations of how to engage a campus community in strategic budgeting within institutional contexts vary. This chapter, therefore, focuses on actions that may be undertaken to align fiscal resources to an institutionally dependent version of equity. Institutional context is important because whether you are working at a tribal institution, a community college, a highly selective institution, or a for-profit provider the injustices will manifest themselves differently. This chapter outlines ways to have a more inclusive conversation between learner-focused and business-focused campus leaders.
