Abstract

This chapter explores the rhetorical power of narrative, metaphor, and visual storytelling across media and professional contexts. It distinguishes between stories and narratives, examines structural patterns and tropes, and how communicators use these forms to persuade, explain, and build connections. Special attention is given to the role of visual rhetoric in narratives, including memes, advertising, and graphic novels. The chapter also addresses ethical concerns such as groupthink and manipulative framing. It describes how narrative and metaphor shape perception, guide emotional response, and influence public discourse across fields from business to healthcare to law.
