Abstract

It is important to remember – and to write for – your main audience. In the case of your dissertation, this means writing for your marker. This chapter reflects on key strategies for meeting the expectations of your marker and ways to keep them ‘onside’. Beginning with details on how to read and understand marking criteria, attention then turns to ways of communicating the originality of your work and making a good (first) impression, before considering other potential audiences for your dissertation.
