Abstract

Chapter 12 examines the challenges of post-production and release/broadcast for child actors, prioritising their well-being. It focuses on smoothly transitioning children back to their everyday lives, ensuring their education is up-to-date, and maintaining regular check-ins with their guardians. The chapter covers re-engaging young performers for additional shots and Automated Dialogue Replacement (ADR) while complying with child labour laws. It recommends crafting age-appropriate marketing strategies that protect privacy and exercising caution when using social media. Treating children as stars or focusing on career-building is firmly discouraged. Instead, fostering open communication and nurturing supportive connections after release ensures that child actors lead relatively normal lives and thrive.
