Abstract

This chapter examines hybrid programming as an emerging model in faculty development, combining in-person and virtual elements to maximize engagement. It explores the pedagogical and logistical considerations of designing hybrid programs. The chapter also highlights how hybrid approaches can extend participation to geographically dispersed or time-constrained faculty while preserving opportunities for community and dialogue. Challenges such as resource demands, faculty readiness, and equity of access are addressed, alongside solutions grounded in intentional design. By analyzing case examples and best practices, the chapter demonstrates how hybrid programming can serve as a sustainable model for faculty development specifically by offering flexibility without sacrificing depth.
