Abstract

The chapter “Emerging technology adoption in Southeast Asia (SEA)’s micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs): a systematic review-based conceptual framework” explores a range of factors influencing MSMEs’ adoption of digital and emerging technologies in the SEA region. This review integrates findings from a collection of literature, highlighting the types of emerging technology being adopted in SEA MSMEs, the barriers, enablers and conditions for emerging technology adoption and the impacts of such adoption on MSMEs in the region. Through integrating related theories and other related constructs, a comprehensive framework to improve the adoption of emerging technology among MSMEs in the SEA region is proposed.
