What Does It Mean to Be a Learner?

What does it mean to be a learner? And, what is the role of mindset and grit in being imaginative and creative as well as intellectual development? These are the central questions addressed in Chapter 3 . Wonder, passion, engagement, and risk-taking are all fundamental aspects of the arts. In this chapter, we examine how aspects of the arts are central to the intersection of art as a tool of learning. The chapter includes numerous examples of teachers and students in their own voices, as they grapple with what it means to be a learner.
