Climate Change and Sustainability

This chapter analyzes the challenges posed by climate change to the historical ensemble of Fiocruz and the territory where it is situated in Rio de Janeiro. It considers the importance of cultural heritage in addressing climate change and its contribution to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals. Additionally, it proposes to evaluate, within this context, the role played by the campus of a public institution dedicated to research, education, technological development, and innovation in health as a case study. This historical ensemble is listed as a Brazilian national heritage and included on Brazil's Tentative List for UNESCO World Heritage.
